Abstract:
The article discusses the main documents defining state policy in the field of geodesy and cartography. It also evaluates the results of implementation and proposals on the prospects for their formation in modern conditions. Possible reasons for the poor implementation of the measures planned in the main documents and aimed at the development of the cartographic and geodetic activities, as well as the system for providing spatial data, are given. The authors analyze such concepts as «the field of geodesy and cartography» and «the sphere of cartographic and geodetic activity» as well as their differences. The article assesses the current world crisis and its impact on the priority tasks of state policy in the field of geodesy and cartography. The given study shows the relevance of the development of a state anti-crisis program for the work of the geodesy and cartography industries. In the conclusion, the authors identify the most necessary proposals for including them in this state program.
